Resistance to change by the public school unions is preventing the scholarship we need for the MAMA movement. An example of a skill set that has to be improved for the Minnesota economy of the 21st century is the skill set of mathematics. Minnesota high school graduates (the nation as a whole) should be, at a minimum, mathematically literate in calculus. Math is the language of nature.
